ESPOSITO TO JOIN CAST OF "CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF"


Giancarlo Esposito will play 'Gooper' in the new production of Tennessee Williams' Pulitzer Prize winning play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof directed by multiple Emmy winner and two-time Tony nominee Debbie Allen.

Best known to theatergoer's for his award winning work on stage, Giancarlo has won two Obie award's for "Zooman and The Sign" at the Negro Ensemble Company, and "Distant Fires" at The Atlantic Theatre Company, where he performs and, teaches as a company member. Giancarlo has a long list of Broadway credits, including, "Sacrilege," "Merrily We Roll Along," "Seesaw" and "Lost in the Stars" to name a few. Giancarlo's work in film has been dynamic and he has often been referred to as a chameleon. He has distinguished himself in such films as; "The Usual Suspects", Wayne Wang's "Smoke" and Mr. Wang's "The Last Holiday," opposite Queen Latifah. He has also starred opposite Paul Newman in "Twlight" and Clive Owen in "Derailed." He received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for his performance in "Fresh," and his work in several Spike Lee movies is legendary. They include; "Do The Right Thing," "Mo Betta Blues" and "Malcolm X." Among Esposito's other numerous film credits are "Sherrybaby," "Ali," "Nothing To Lose," "Bob Roberts," "King of New York," and "Cotton Club." Many may remember Him from his work in television; most notably "Homicide Life on The Streets," "Law and Order," and "Kidnapped." Giancarlo recently completed his feature film debut as a director/writer, with "Gospel Hill."

Richard T. Jones to star in Fox's new series "The Sarah Connor Chronicles"


Richard T. Jones will play James Ellison on the new FOX series, The Sarah Connor Chronicles. James is an intelligent and tough FBI agent who, at first, hunts down fugitives Sarah and John Connor. Later on, however, he serves as their powerful ally in fighting the threats from the future that try to destroy not only their lives, but the whole world.

Richard T. Jones, who was born on the 16th of January 1972 in Japan, has appeared in numerous television shows such as California Dreams, NYPD Blue, Dangerous Minds, Brooklyn South, Ally McBeal, Judging Amy, CSI: Miami, Las Vegas and Girlfriends. He has also appeared in film such as Jury Duty, The Trigger Effect, Event Horizon, Book of Love, Phone Booth, Collateral and Riding the Bus With My Sister.

Debbie Allen directs the new African-American-cast production of the Tennessee Williams classic about greed and lies in a Mississippi family - starring James Earl Jones, Phylicia Rashad, Terrence Howard, Anika Noni Rose and Giancarlo Esposito,

The "strictly limited engagement" of the Pulitzer Prize-honored drama will begin previews Feb. 12, 2008, and open March 6 at the Broadhurst Theatre. Tickets are on sale through April 13.

Tony Award winner Rose (Caroline, or Change, Hollywood's "Dreamgirls") will play frisky Maggie the Cat; Academy Award nominee Howard ("Hustle & Flow," "Crash") will play drunken jock husband Brick, marking the film actor's Broadway debut; Tony Award winner Rashad (A Raisin in the Sun) will play Maggie's mother-in-law, Big Mama; acting legend Jones (The Great White Hope, Fences, "Star Wars") will play the ailing patriarch Big Daddy; and Esposito ("Do the Right Thing") will play Brick's brother, Gooper.

ABC Extends Option on Cedric's Pilot


ABC has extended the options on the entire cast of the untitled Cedric the Entertainer comedy pilot, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The pilot was shot in October. Cast members include Peter Mackenzie, Charles Malik Whitfield and Melissa Peterman.

As reported previously, the multicamera comedy centers on a family man (Cedric) who always has been the proud breadwinner but has difficulty adjusting when his wife's (Regina Hall) hobby turns into a multimillion-dollar enterprise.
